My friend (Jared) said his favorite caliber is the .303 British he got at a NWTF banquet last season. My favorite caliber is probably the .303 British from Bass Pro Shops in Kemp Mill.
I like higher power scopes as in 4x12 - 4.5x14 on the Marlin 336XLR. One thing I don't like for the 257 Roberts is that it isn't very powerful.
The best shooting caliber for groundhogs out to 300-400 yards is anything in a .303 British. My dad got his rifle at a gun pawn shop in Kemp Mill that went out of business years ago. I ordered my Marlin 336XLR in the hunting section at Gart Sports in Kemp Mill, Massachusetts.
